Hello! I'm Mandi aka This Gal. As an Aquarius I tend to like to have my hands in a little bit of everything, so the topics on the blog will vary with whatever craft I'm into at the time. But the main things you'll see is me tracking my knitting and sewing skills. Those are quickly becoming my two main passions. Never in a million years would I have expected for knitting to become one of my passions. Like a true Aquarius I dabbled in just about everything imaginable in my pre-teen and teen years, but never found something that could hold my interest. Then about three years ago, knitting came into my life and never left.

I've been very nostalgic from an early age. I have to credit my mom for this. I remember tagging along with her on her many antique shop adventures, at least they were adventures to me, and I just began to grow quite fond of things from the past. I do have to admit, I wasn't crazy about them at first, something about the smell of the shops made me queasy. Who knows, I was young. Then I remember discovering I Love Lucy back in middle school I've had a slight obsession with 50s fashion. Since then my tastes have switched more to the mod 60s style, it's probably because of all those Elvis movies I've consumed. Over the past year or so, I've started a small collection of 60s clothes that I adore. And although my personal fashion preference leans more towards the 60s, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Lucy's iconic blue and white polka dot dress.

My main goal is to combine my love for knitting, sewing and vintage fashion into one. I dream of the day that I'll have a closet full of hand made vintage inspired pieces. I'm excited to start the journey down that path and to share it with all of you.
